Fundamental Frequencies of Elliptical Plates using Static Deflections

چکیده

Fundamental frequencies of solid and annular elliptical plates were approximated using the static deflections by means finite element method (FEM) without computing eigenvalues. The problem was formulated within framework first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). effects (i) inner outer boundary conditions, (ii) size perforation, (iii) aspect ratio, (iv) thickness plate on performance examined via a large variety numerical simulations. Convergence study performed through h-refinement. Accuracy results validated comparison studies. reveal that application Morley’s formula which does not require eigenvalue analysis approximates fundamental frequency with finer mesh compared to analysis. can be considered as practical technique approximate frequency. However, conditions have dominant role accuracy solution particularly when is perforated.
